The Gauteng Partnership Fund (GPF) as an implementing agency of the Gauteng Department of Human Settlements is dedicated to facilitating spatial transformation and modernisation of sustainable human settlements in Gauteng through the establishment of strategic partnerships for innovative funding solutions and accelerated delivery through effective project implementation.
Through the provision of dignified shelter that is located close to job opportunities, transport nodes and social amenities we can create viable and sustainable communities and improve the quality of life of the people of Gauteng.
The core mandate of the GPF is to raise and manage the capital required for the successful implementation of identified sustainable human settlements in Gauteng.
Enhancing the lives of people in communities while also providing investors and partners with sound returns is important. We are, therefore, delighted to announce the approval of funding for the following developers that will transform Gauteng. This demonstrates the constructive value of public-private partnerships, working together in the delivery of affordable housing.
- Mapchief Trading (Pty) Ltd has been approved for R18 256 236 00, to be utilised to develop ERF 872 Pretoria Gardens into a student accommodation. To qualify the developer contributed R5 415 994 00 or 10% equity into the project. Through private sector partnerships, GPF was also able to secure R32 495 962 00 senior funding from the National Empowerment Fund. The total cost of the project will be R54 159 937 00. The project will yield 77 units delivering 308 beds. The proposed development is situated 4 KM away from Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).
- Golden Pupil Trading (Pty) Ltd has been approved for R8 560 000 00, to be used to develop ERF 412 Power Park Soweto into a student accommodation. The developer contributed R21 954 971 00 or 73% equity into the projects. The overall project cost will be R29 954 971 00. The development is already 85% complete yielding 35 units, delivering 140 beds. The GPF funds will be used for the internal finishing within the units. The development is located within a kilometer of the University of Johannesburg, Soweto Campus.
- Sagewood Cribs Properties (Pty) Ltd has been approved for R8 560 000 00, to be used for the development of a student accommodation in Protea Glen, Ext 1, Soweto Johannesburg. The developer contributed R2 456 572 00 or 23% equity to the project. The overall total cost of the project is R10 456 572 00. The development will yield 30 two-bedroom student accommodation rental units thereby delivering 90 beds.
- Barra Dunes Chalet 31 (Pty) Ltd has been approved for R16 185 883, for the development of ERF 1 of Groblerpark, Ext 101, Princess Park, Roodepoort. The developer will contribute R6 370 347 which is 13% of the total project development costs. GPF also secured Future Growth as a senior funder who has approved R29 158 401. The total cost of the project will be R50 755 354 00. The development will yield 144 affordable rental units.
- Property Developers and Construction (Pty) Ltd has been approved for R20 280 263 00, for the development of ERF 2000 and portion 1 of ERF 1999, 57 Bok Street, Doorfontein. The developer will contribute R6 037 617 00 as equity. GPF has also secured senior funding through future growth who has approved R36 441 702 00 for the project. The total cost of the project is R60 736 170 00. This development will yield 98 one-bedroom units and 21. two-bedroom student accommodation rental units.
