The South African Institute of Valuers (SAIV) hosted their 2021 Branch Annual General Meetings (AGMs) across the country where new leadership was elected.
The South African Institute of Valuers which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019 is the national society of professional real estate valuers. In the current depressed state of the property market, these valuation professionals play a critical role in remaining at the forefront of the valuation profession and ensuring the promotion and representation of professional valuers in South Africa.
Commenting on the elections, SAIV president Tracey Myers said they were thrilled to welcome the recently elected branch executives. “We are looking forward to working with the collective to promote the valuation profession which is regarded as a scarce skill,” she stated.
In the Northern Branch, the executive constitutes of Malusi Mthuli and Pelo Khasu, who were elected chair and vice-chairperson, respectively. They will serve with fellow Branch Executives: Stanton Alberts, Tracey Myers, Motlatso Maloka and Mokebe Ramatlotlo. Chelsea Brown and Slindile Mpontshane will serve as the Branch Student Representatives.
The Southern Cape Branch AGM elected Natalie Ginsberg and Robyn Jackson as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, respectively. They will serve with Paul Bowen-Davies, Cherry Douglas, Ludwig Fortmuller, Nomahlubi Hewu, Franci Malan, Renee Snyman, Karen van der Vyver and Monique Vernooy. Kate Hurt, Nwabisa Madikane and Zizipho Sobekwa are the Branch Student Representatives.
The KwaZulu-Natal Branch AGM witnessed the election of Dianne de Wet as Chairperson and Graham Allan as Vice-Chairperson. Patrick O’Connell, Deeran Govender and Trevor Richardson make up the remainder of the Branch Executive. Professor Hlongwa is the KZN Branch Student Representative.
The Eastern Cape Branch saw Allan Moyce and William Tau elected Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, respectively. The Branch Executive also consists of Yolandi Gray-Browne and Jason Stow.
The Central Branch Executive consists of Kobus Nel and Joy Boraine as the chairperson and vice-chairperson, respectively. They are joined by Thys Beukes, Pierre de Klerk and Rainier Spanner who form the remainder of the Branch Executive.
