Knauf Insulation has launched its new Insulation Solutions Guide ahead of the introduction of both the new SANS-10400XA regulation requiring external walls to be built with cavities and Energy Performance Certificates (EPC).
The new guide is designed to make specifications for the right insulation for every application quick and easy so customers can be confident they will achieve their desired levels of energy efficiency.
The guide features the company’s extensive range of non-combustible, high-performance insulation ordered by application. This means customers can identify which products are best suited for roofs, walls, floors and fire protection. Product data detailing features and benefits are listed in full at the back of the Insulation Solutions Guide.
Suria Ramnarain, sales development manager at Knauf Insulation says, “The energy saving properties of insulation keep buildings warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s warm. With the new regulations coming into force later this year, it has never been so important for architects, specifiers, builders, developers and homeowners to use the right insulation for the project.
“So, to make it easier for our customers, we have added a handy dial rating system. This allows readers to see at a glance each product’s thermal and acoustic performance, SANS 10177 part 5 and 10 and Euroclass A1 Reaction to Fire classifications and BRE Green Guide rating for sustainability.”
Knauf Insulation’s Technical Support Team is on hand to provide further advice on regulations, products and energy performance. They also provide NBS clauses and 3D Heat Loss/U-value (through R-value) Calculations. CAD and BIM files are also available.
In addition to the product and application sections, the Insulation Solutions Guide also includes information about Knauf Insulation’s extensive sustainability credentials.
Knauf Insulation’s glass mineral wool products contain up to 80% recycled materials. This whole process saves on raw materials and energy demands, cuts carbon emissions and reduces waste going to landfill.
Most of Knauf Insulation’s Mineral Wool products are manufactured using ECOSE® Technology, its patented sustainable bio-based binder that contains no added phenol or formaldehyde. As a result, products made using ECOSE® Technology are 70% less energy-intensive than mineral wool products made using traditional chemical-based binders, further reducing their ecological footprint. They are also odourless, softer to touch and have the best possible Eurofins Gold Certificate for Indoor Air Comfort, contributing to a high level of indoor air quality.
The company even compresses its final products, which means less packaging used, fewer lorries on the roads, reduced transport carbon emissions and less storage and handling for its customers.
